It’s Monday, folks; the start to a fresh new week, and the time of year when everyone is heading back to work and school, and (maybe it’s just me..?) catching that late Summer cough and cold combo we all dread. I did my best, but it still couldn’t be avoided this year. Thankfully I’m on the tail-end of my sickness now, but I figured, ‘what better way to start the week than a delicious, detoxifying drink packed with Vitamin C and plenty of antioxidants?
I’m sure a lot of people have seen recipes for ‘goth lemonade’ all over the internet by now, since it really started picking up popularity last Summer. But, (spoiler alert) the goth lemonade recipes are all made by just taking regular lemonade and either adding food coloring or activated charcoal to give it its spooky black color. This is fun and all, but A), I didn’t have any activated charcoal just laying around, and B) I wanted to mix it up a little and do something a bit different! So below is the recipe I came up with for my own ‘goth lemonade’ concoction;
The best way to go about this is to mash up the blueberries on the bottom of the glass, then add the liquids and ice. It’s not exactly black, per say, but the color turned out a beautiful purpleish-red that I just love. And it’s quite delicious!
Have a great week, ya’ll, and stay healthy!
